In November 2002, I was playing with the Zeniza All Stars and decided to leave and follow a different path. I
met Flautist Arch Thompson, keyboardist Bill Davis,
Bongo player-Rafy Alvarez and guitarist Tony Harrod
and we became the "Latin Jazz All Stars". In 2004 I formed a
new band and called it "Joe Falero & DC Latin Jazz All Stars". Since its creation the band has played in many venues and at many functions
on the east coast of the U.S.
Joe Falero & DC Latin Jazz All Stars have won two Stuck on Salsa Awards
for Favorite Band in 2007 & 2008. They released a new CD,
!Latin Flavor! in 2010. The band has performed in venues like the Washington Convention Center, Kennedy Center, Merriweather Post Pavillion, Lincoln Theatre, Live at Woodrow Plaza, Jazz at the garden, Mount Pleasant Festival, Adams Morgan Festival, Opuss 88, Caribbean Breeze, Baltimore Latin festival, Havana Village, Rumbero's, Cada Vez, The Islander, Smithsonian Jazz Cafe, Cococabana's, Wheaton Festival,
Fell's Point Festival, Vinoteca, IZORA'S, Freedom Plaza, Botanical Garden, Las Tapas, Club Five, OEA, Department of State, NASA, UDC, Georgetown School of Law, Union Station, Westminster Park, Brown Sugar in NYC and many more...

He got all his basic training in Latin music at his parents and family member's homes in Santurce,
Puerto Rico. This happened while listening to the music of
Tito Rodriguez, Ismael Rivera, Tito Puente, Machito and many more legends of Latin music
Joe's friends began to recognize his knowledge of music and rhythms.
Eventually, their appreciation of his DJ skills grew to the point
that they began asking him to play his music at birthday and school
party's. After moving to New York city, Joe continued to DJ. Over
time, he learned to mix American music. It was in NYC where he began
mixing music at private and corporate party's.
At this time, Joe is believed to be the only
Bandleader/DJ in Washington DC metro area. Joe is the founder and musical director of Joe Falero & DC Latin Jazz All Stars and just release a new CD !Latin Flavor!

He has won "The Major League Salsa DJ Award", and has performed as a DJ
in venues like: Zanzibar, H2O, VIP Club, Juste Lounge, OZIO'S, Cafe Peju, Costa Verde, Casa Juanita's, Indian Head Country Club, Balverde Hotel and many music festivals in the Washington, DC metro area.
